Mom’s Day Viral

motyFRESH IDEA:  This week, I shared a tid bit about what makes a campaign viral.  In honor of Mother’s Day, I thought I’d share a great example – as sent to me by a friend (thank you, LM!).  Momsrising.org and Moveon.org — both politically driven organizations — have created a customizable, minute and a half, video “news clip.”  It congratulates the 2009 “Mother of the Year” award winner — as indicated by the email sender (that would be me, Lisa Fritts, per my friend).  From funny, people on the street interviews talking about being a Mom, to President Obama, every scene includes the email recipient’s name (see my name on the inserted image 2x).  And at the end, it enables you to send to your own list of Moms.  I’m sharing this with you as a great example of what makes a campaign viral because it:

Drives an emotion — Funny, feel good happiness.  Public service — Enables the sender to feel good about sharing, it’s funny, highly customized, and appropriate for Moms everywhere.  And lastly, its got a great Trigger — Mother’s Day!

Again, great viral example, tracking back to another post, to make you feel like a smarty booty, and as a fun piece to send to your favorite Moms (link noted below).  Now go on, git!  Go prepare to honor thy Mother and Mother-Like-Friends!  TASTY TREND:  Gone viral
